Tell us a bit about yourself?

I am a mother of one 14 year old son and his father and I just love him to bits! Originally Brisbane Folk, we thought we would give Melbourne a try and landed in December 2019 right in time for the Pandemic. My passion lies in Mothers Health and Wellbeing and I used to have a Mothers Health & Wellbeing Fitness business in Brisbane and when we moved to The Hills, I looked for a similar Ethos and that is how I found MotHs. A beautiful environment where mothers are supported in everything they do and I am so happy to be here and a part of this wonderful community

What is the best thing and the most challenging things about being a mum?

The best thing I love about being a mum, is watching them grow into these gorgeous humans. Sometimes I could just stare at my son for hours, but I am sure he would think that is just weird. What I personally find challenging is, is making sure I am giving him the correct advice to grow into a respectful & inclusive young man who appreciates all humanity.

What are you passionate about?

My passion is health & wellbeing for longevity. Always have been and always will. I love everything outdoors, horse riding, trail running, swimming (QLD) and love to always be educating myself on foods and how they affect our bodies. Oh and did I mention wine? (Thats more a love than passion)

What are you passionate about?

Having struggled with my own mental health, PND after each child and most recently PTSD, my personal mental health is something I'm super protective of and currently passionate about putting everything into my education to be able to help other people (but most importantly other Mums) get their flow back when life gets in the way.

What is something that you have done that you are proud of?

“My motto is, what have you got to lose? ”.

Creating a fitness business specialising in Mothers Health & Wellbeing. This business I created from nothing grew into a safe, easy place where mums could come and enjoy their body movement in their time. Exercise was a swear word and was replaced with Enjoyable Body Movement. My largest proudest moment was training a blind mother to run 5km with me around the streets where we lived and it was hilly. So, so proud of her for having the trust in me to get her to this goal.

You're a mum and a local business owner. How do you manage it?

You just do. In the early days when my son was a baby, I created my mothers fitness business so he could be with me. Now, we have 3 businesses with two of them running virtually by themselves with staff and my third new business I am loving because now I get to support local small businesses with all of their admin and can teach them my Easy Admin System I created over the years of developing whilst bringing up our son, so I could make it easier for me and can now pass this Easy Admin System on to other local businesses.

What advice would you give to mums out there wanting to start their own business?

Go for it! My motto is, what have you got to lose? As long as you have your health, family to support you and you able to support your family, it can be the most exhilarating, exciting and scariest experience of your life. Fear is what holds alot of us back, but if we don’t make mistakes we have not tried. I have made loads of mistakes and are very proud of them. I would not be where I am today if I hadn’t.
