Complete your Level 1 Chainsaw Training to help our community be more resilient in emergency events.
Date: Saturday and Sunday 14th & 15th September

Day 1: MotHs Hub, 6 Hayes Place, Belgrave
Day 2: On location - Sassafras. Address given to attendees
Yarra Ranges Council is funding Mums of the Hills group to complete FREE Level 1 Chainsaw Training to help the MotHs community to be more resilient in emergency events, such as storms and bushfires. This 2 day course is run by ArbTrack Australia, and participants will gain a nationally recognised accreditation.
Day 1 - Saturday September 14th
Where: MotHs Hub: 6 Hayes Place, Belgrave.
Time: 8am - 4pm
What: Classroom style learning. Our trainer will teach the essentials of chainsaw safety, maintenance and operation.
Day 2 - Sunday September 15th
Where: Sassafras. Address emailed to attendees
Time: 8am -4pm
What: Practical on-site learning where our trainer will supervise use of chainsaws
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required
Participants will need to bring and wear their own lace up steel cap boots. Other required PPE items can either be loaned from Council for the day, or participants are welcome to bring their own. This includes:
Hi Vis Workwear
Hardhat
Hearing Protection (participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own over ear muffs as Council can only provide disposable in ear plugs)
Chainsaw chaps/pants
Participants are also welcome to bring their own chainsaws. ArbTrack will have chainsaws present for you to borrow. Bring other weather appropriate clothing as day 2 will be spent outside in the elements.
